Aks University Film Festival
The Aks University Film Festival is an annual platform that aims to support and encourage cinematic creativity among university students by screening short films that reflect their issues and identities through artistic and innovative expression.The upcoming edition will be held under the theme of "Identity and Citizenship", highlighting the relationship between individuals and society, as well as cultural and national belonging, through the creative lens of youth — showcasing the depth of student cinema in Oman and the Arab world.
Aks Film Camp
Aks Film Camp is an intensive training program held in December 2023 in the Sultanate of Oman, designed to equip Omani youth with the fundamentals of filmmaking. The two-week camp covered all key stages of film production — from screenwriting and directing to cinematography, sound, and editing. Fifty students from various universities across Oman participated and successfully produced four short films during the program. The camp provided an interactive learning environment that honed participants' skills in writing, acting, filming, directing, sound, and editing — fostering teamwork and creative collaboration.
